If you’ve been thinking about planning a romantic trip that you and your significant other can take, there are several places that you can go: the mountains of Colorado in the wintertime, the beaches of Hawaii during the summer or Paris—anytime of the year. After all, Paris is definitely considered to be one of the absolute most romantic places in the world.

If that sounds like something you’d like to do and you want to make sure that your getaway is just perfect, we have five tips to ensure that your time in Paris will be full of love, passion and yes, plenty of romance.

1.Decide the time of year you want to go.

While we certainly believe that you will not regret going to Paris no matter when you decide to go there, if you are wondering what time of the year is the least expensive (and also far less crowded), we recommend not traveling there during the latter part of the summer.

Actually, you can get some of the cheapest air and hotel rates if you decide to go sometime between November and February (yes, going to Paris for Valentine’s Day can keep a few extra dollars in your pocket!).

2.Try and fly first-class.

When you’re going to be up in the air for several hours, it’s great if you can be as comfortable as possible. One way to guarantee that is to fly first-class.

Yes, that tends to be significantly more expensive but the good news is that if you use a travel agent or a flight fee search website like Matrix, you can oftentimes find a really good deal so that you and yours will have plenty of room to snuggle.

3.Choose a beautiful hotel.

Sure, there are a lot of places that you can stay in Paris but not all hotels are five-star. So, before you book a reservation, we recommend doing a bit of research. As far as the hotels that rate high on our romance meter, some of them include One by the Five, Hotel Pont Royal and the hidden mansion known as Hotel Particulier Montmartre.

4.Put some must-see places on your to-do list.

Although we can totally understand why you might want to spend a lot of your time cuddled up in your hotel room, it would be a shame to go so far away and miss out on some of romantic sites.

As you’re making out a sightseeing itinerary, put having High Tea at the Ritz, eating Oysters and Wine at Le Baron Rouge and experiencing a chocolate massage at the Four Seasons George V Hotel (where we recommend that you stay for at least a night) on your to-do list.

5.Don’t forget to pack something “extra”.

When you’re in the process of planning a Paris vacation, even if you book a hotel reservation in one of the most amazing neighborhoods in Paris and you pick all of the right restaurants and tourist spots, a big part of romance is adding a few personal touches.

So, don’t forget to put some special sleepwear in your bag along with a couple of greeting cards and perhaps even a surprise token of your affection. Those extra items will be the perfect touch for your romantic getaway to Paris.
